Biography

Katie Thurman has ten years of experience working as a Physician Assistant in the family practice setting. Prior to joining the Family Medicine Associates of Conroe in 2017, she worked for ten years at Dr. Hill’s office in Humble, TX. Following a transfer to this area, she is grateful to be able to continue to serve some of her established patients and also care for new families in the Conroe area.

Katie graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch Physician Assistant program in Galveston, TX in 2007 with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Prior to attending the University of Texas Medical Branch, Katie completed her undergraduate degree at Baylor University in Waco, TX. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in Nutritional Sciences. During her undergrad studies, Katie spent one semester studying the Spanish language while living in Guadalajara, Mexico. Her mother-in-law, an LVN, was very influential in helping Katie relate her background of Spanish and nutrition to a profession in medicine that would also allow her to be “a wife and mom and enjoy what she did.” With science credits in nutrition, she transitioned successfully to the PA Graduate Program in Galveston. Her expertise in Spanish has also been a valuable asset. In addition, she was also influenced by her experience in ER after Baylor graduation and before grad school.
